Actually, so do I. But I still posted the slash version, because a) had to have that line about Bates wanting to return to Pegasus to suck Sheppard's cock b) I always felt that 'Semper Fi' deserved a sequel, even if that sequel ended up being mostly genish. Poor Bates.

O’Neill’s better - he does his job and he makes the tough call when the time comes, but there’s some maniac something in him that sympathizes with Sheppard’s recklessness.
That seems to be a very apt description. O'Neill's definitely a little more conventional in some ways, but he's definitely the man who would promote Sheppard. *g*
“Yes. The man we sent, Colonel Everett, was fed on by the Wraith.” That seems to be the trend for guys who outrank Sheppard. Neither of them mentions it.
Nice. I like the subtle and not-so-subtle resentment that runs through this, and yet, we can totally understand where Bates is coming from. Nicely done.
