when i got wedding invites before, i used a magnet to tack them to a fridge or magnet board to remember it. the reason for the photo is not everyone invited has met both of us (my younger sister has not yet met hukuma and so it gives her a sense of what he looks like). plus those who can't make it to the wedding have something to keep. the magnets can be cut with an x-acto blade if they want to cut off the date and just have the photo later. so it was useful for a variety of reasons :O)

My friend Melinda (The one in Fort Wayne) had such a thing. I thought it was insanely ingenious, once I figured it out (The magnet was stuck pretty well to the card, I thought it was just a raised picture...not one of my brighter times).

I was surprised to find that the etiquette mavens frown on such a thing as the "save the date" card, as well as the rsvp cards everyone has these days as well.

I think the etiquette mavens are ridiculous (in these opinions, at least, often they're ok).
