It's not that a lot hasn't happened...

I'm just not always good about writing it down.

Here, however, is a thing that folks have been wanting out of me for a while, and I'm happy to finally deliver:

My performance of Anachie Gordon, Child Ballad #239, on bandcamp. Listen and embed for free. For downloading, I'm asking a little more for it than most street tracks (it IS 11 minutes ( Read more... )

What you're doing with your voice there is positively uncanny at times.

Just tellin' a story. But thank you. I particularly like this piece.

I'm particularly impressed with the ways you use your voice on that song. Even with all the street noise, something approximating a "Bardic Gift" comes through.

I'm hoping to arrange transport *for you* to the House Concert in Edison - I'm not yet sure what the exact date is, but it's the closest I'll get.

I want to do Anachie for you in person, and give you the Full Effect; *then* you can tell me whether I've got the "Bardic Voice", or no.

But thank you; this brings tears to my eyes.

You know, I'd really like to see you on youtube.

Seriously talking? If you're up for it, I think the right promotion could take you far.

There's a buncha me on youtube, but nothing I've uploaded - search "harp guy boulder" for a bunch of then.

Going far, geographically, is in the plan, but I'm wanting to be wary of "fame"...I've seen what our culture does to "celebrity", and it's toxic. I just want enough to get places, and get my message across, and live. (Happily.) If you've got leads on a friendly agency, I'd be interested.

What sort of "right promotion" ideas would you suggest? There's a vimeo by ruperthemoose which he's kindly offered to open to the public. This might be what you're looking for; ya wanna promote me? It'll get you hugged when I'm through in May (booking for the May Tour through CA and up to Seattle will start the moment I'm back from THIS one).

Will you be at FoS?

Darn my haunted brain..all I'm coming up with is "Field of Screams," to which the answer is, "No."

Your version of FoS is..?

Wait, you're not in Tennesssee! gafferbear September 19 2011, 18:29:30 UTC
Festival of Souls, Meeman Shelby State Park, outside of Memphis, TN. I have *no* idea why I thought you were in Tennessee.

So, my Cleveland dates are for Shaker Square and Berea. The closest I'll really be to Pittsburgh. If you're interested, it's Dewey's Coffee on Shaker Square, October 29th, in the evening. I can send more, but details of all upcoming events will soon be up on the Calendar (SPACETIME) page of thatharpguy.com

I wonder if making that little video clip of you I shot available for embedding might help the cause of T. Venar? If you want it out there, let me know, and I'll make it viewable to the larger world (once I correct the spelling of your name, that is). I sent you a google message back. My phone has been on the fritz, so I'm not sure how reliable that mode of communication might be. I was only able to listen to about half your voicemail. Have you tried contacting the Linda yet?

On the Vimeo: Please? AND Thank you, That would be LOVELY...

And on the name (I'm sure Tor understands!) I just use Gaffer... everyone seems to be able to spell it, and I'm not hooked into my "family name" - it's never done much positive for me, and I've kinda just dropped it.

Muchly hugs and thanks!

I have not yet had the chance to call the Linda, though I did find Liv Carrow thanks to your post. Still can't distinguish which of your name is you, nor find your hubby. I'll likely be calling the Linda this afternoon, after I actually BOOK THE TICKET (darnit!). Next year's tour will be arranged six months in advance, like everyone else wants (I suppose I'd like it, too, once I get used to believing I'll be around that long!).

So here's this: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000419683678

This should take you straight to "T Gaffer Venar", as opposed to "That Harp Guy".

Thanks again.
