It's the Ninth...

The Weekly Felix Gaeta Post

This week, I thought we'd do a comment fic-ish sort of discussion challenge.

Show Felix interacting with someone we never saw him talk with on screenAlthough Gaeta is the little black dress of fandom, the truth is there are plenty of characters with whom we never saw him interact on screen. Tell us ( Read more... )

1. I want Tory to have met Felix. But I really can't think of how. Maybe someone else can figure it ( ... )

Yay, a comment already! And with comment fic! :)

Aw, Jake! I like the mix of this cute little moment with Felix petting the dog, and the ominous mention of Sweet!Eight growing more distant lately. The moment where you mention Jake always being glad to see Felix and how one day he'd be able to hold his head up again among the Colonials just hit me in the gut. D:

Also, nice touch with him feeding Jake meat stolen from the Cylons. ;)

I'm glad you liked!

I was trying to give Felix a happy moment so this would be mod!Rap compliant. And Felix was not harmed in the making of this comment ficlet. :-) But it was New Caprica. The dog just seemed so happy and friendly and I like the idea of Felix having a friend on the planet. One that wouldn't betray him. And that's Jake. :-)

Jake's bowl was an important signal. I like the fact that Felix spoiled him a little. Heck, Felix and Jake should get something for their support to the cause. :-)

“I’m sorry.” There she said it. Tory gathered the folders on the conference table in front of her ignoring the suddenly sharp look from the man sitting next to her.

“Excuse me.”

“I’m sorry,” she repeated. She hadn’t looked at him the first time she’d said it and didn’t look at him this time.

“If that was an attempt to apologize for your extracurricular foray into vigilantism which almost got me blown out a frakking airlock you are doing a piss poor job of it.”

His tone was so bitingly superior she turned to glare at him. Gaeta had turned the chair sideways and sat forward to examine her with frankly doubting eyes. “For one thing, I believe it is customary to at least look at a person you are apologizing to. Eye contact is particularly important when you’re apologizing for a significant malfeasance; for example, murder, attempted murder, little things like that.”

Son-of-a-bitch. She had scrapped up all her courage to do that much. She had nightmares over the realization that they’d nearly executed not only a man who was ( ... )

Wow!

What great responses this post is getting!

I love Gaeta's razor-sharp dialogue, and his refusal to accept a half-hearted apology. And Tory's got a very believable mix of guilt and utterly unrepentant self-righteousness, even as Gaeta pokes holes in the simplicity of her belief that her ends justified her means.

Good point about A/R giving Tory pass after pass. I hadn't thought of that.
And I love how Gaeta insists on no pretty euphemisms to describe what was done to him. I imagine a conversation in which Gaeta got an apology from Adama for not protecting him better from the Circle's wrath was similarly awkward and weaselly, similarly lacking in real content.

Good point about A/R giving Tory pass after pass.

Until she slept with Baltar, anyway. That was unforgivable. ;)

Completely unforgivable. It's interesting that what Roslin perceived as a personal betrayal was her breaking point rather than (in my opinion) the much more serious breach of public duty and trust. Mass murder is okay, but sleeping with 'the enemy' is not.

1. Felix and any of the other CIC staff besides Dee. He worked with them, supervised them, and bunked with them. He had to have talked to them at some point!

2. Felix-Lee friendship fic set Season 3. Lee was CAG and Felix was the Tactical Officer they had to have some contact to discuss resources, battle plans and tactics, etc.... Also, dang it Lee's wife was Felix's BFF and she would have wanted them to get along (even pre-Kara). Felix undoubtedly gave her away at their wedding, so I think Lee would have wanted to get to know him.

ETA 3. I still want comment fix with Felix and Louis first kiss.
