Thanks!

Actually, I'm really, REALLY starting to like the "Bill is Felix's dad and Sam is his uncle" thing I've got going. Which means they'll probably kill off Larry or Sam in Caprica (please God, NO, at least not SAM)- or the whole Willy =/= Bill Adama thing will be true, but don't be surprised if a few more of my ficlets are this universe. I don't want to write a whole story, but I am REALLY starting to like this, just to write Sam and Felix together.

I'm enjoying this series. I have a fondness for Gaeta as Bill's long lost son stories (for example, I loved the blazes out of Rap's The Irony). This is a lovely one. Sam of course is perfect in the roll of great uncle and his observations of Felix, Bill, and Lee are all dead on. I hope you do some more shorts in this AU.

Thanks :) I'm really kind of enjoying this bizarre little AU, if nothing else because I adore Sam Adama. Can it be October for Caprica to start yet?

I wish, I'm actually a Nielson family - I'm supposed to get my packet next week - not sure for how long, but I hope it includes the time when Caprica is playing.

Whoa, you are?! I was just reading an article about Nielsons. It strikes me as utterly bizarre that in an age of such huge technological advances, the TV market is determined by 25,000 American households with clunky data boxes that make an look Atari high-tech.

Watch good TV!! :)

I'm not usually a fan of "Significant Character X is the secret love-child of Significant Character Y," but I'm liking this 'verse. ::reminds self AGAIN to catch up on Caprica, since it starts in...two weeks? Uh-oh::

Thanks! I'm not usually much into it either, and I think what makes the difference here is Sam. And Sam is a good 50% of the reason you need to catch up on Caprica. You will ADORE Sam, I am sure :)

As per usual you make that which my brain initially says, 'Oh No' to, not only acceptable, but intriguing enough for me say, "Yeah, I'd definitely read more in that verse." well done.

Thanks. It's totally Sam's fault. I really think he's the reason I like this universe- I'm normally not into this genre myself.

Glad you enjoyed it! :)

Hey,

Just wanted to say that I really liked this. Sam is incredibly likable here. (Not that he isn't in canon, too, but just saying you've done a great job with making him sympathetic here.) I like how you keep having him forget himself and be all avuncular to Felix and then be surprised at how his behavior doesn't quite add up for Felix. Felix is a smart boy. I have to think he's going to figure it out sometime. I imagine this conversation where he just quietly confronts Sam with it one day. ;)

Teaching Felix to drive is such a great choice of gift for Sam to give, for it it something that parents give children, but it's also pretty plausible that Sam could just take it into his head to be generous and teach Felix.

Finally, I like the way you have the characters constantly working on their self-control. That was such a huge part of both Sam's character in Caprica and also Felix's character. It's fascinating to see the two of them working at it in each other's presence, and yet also trying to connect. :)
