Somehow, I doubt people who are having floods are happy about it, though, Gaeln.
We got 2" of snow and will get some every afternoon for the next four days. Very Very cold, dry days. -6 at night and won't warm up for a week. I'm not going anywhere.
We're not having floods here in California, we're have a severe drought so, I am very glad about any little rain we might get especially since the central valley, where a great deal of the nations food is grown, is drying up. We've already been put on summer water restrictions and it's only February!!
I know California is in trouble because of the drought - there have been stories locally about some localities being cut off from central supplies of water. That sounds drastic! I also realize the effect on the national supply of fruits and vegetable California grows. (I lived in Contra Costa County for a good part of my childhood, on the edge of the San Joaquin Valley.)
Here's hoping whatever winds blow precipitation your way, blow extra hard in Februay, March and even April. FanSee

I'm right there with you. My fingers are crossed. The water district has asked us to cut back by 10% while our Governor Brown has asked us for 20% which is what I'm working towards. For instance even just that little rain has allowed me to turn off my sprinklers for the first time this fall/winter. At least for 2 or 3 weeks.
Do you remember much of your time living on the edge of the valley?
I'm sure you can. We fluctuate but this year has been so especially bad as to be scary. I'll think rain for you and you think rain for us, that should work!!
Obviously you're doing a better job thinking 'rain' than I am because we've been getting a nice amount. They say it won't help drought-wise but still, it's good to know that it can still rain :) so thanks!! and I'll try harder, promise.
