I recently found out about a new comm: spn_award. The talent in this fandom has me in awe -- from fic writing, to vidding, to art, to the betas-we-can't-live-without, to those who watch the show and share their thoughts in various reviews and meta's.... Sounds like a fun and talented place. Like mentioned above, I think we sometimes forget about the talent because of the level of batshit around fandom.

Ok.. this is the most pathetic comment ever, but these comm's just depress the hell out of me.... You have no idea what it's like to always be picked last for baseball - or just not at all....

Yeah, I do know. That was my life -- until I got married. I may have gotten a tiny bit lucky once in awhile with fanfic writing, but in real life I've never been a "chosen one" outside of my husband and kid. I was always a shadow for the most part.

So, I sympathize.
