I'm afraid this wasn't a favourite of mine, not because it was Winchester light but because I really don't like Claire much, if they do a spin off with the "Wayward Daughters" like many are saying - I won't be watching it! I do however love Jody.
I also like the dinner table scene. But I doubt I'll be re-watching this one as much as I have the last two episodes.
Thanks for your ramble as always. Hope your week ahead goes well.
I went into this basically uncaring one way or another -- it was a hard week for many reasons and I just enjoyed watching our boys. I honestly didn't think about Claire much at all except that she was angry and acting out. It's kind of surprised me how many folks have said they don't care for her. I could take or leave her (it was Jodi I was concerned about).
Thanks for the good wishes for the week ahead. The hubs and I are leaving Mo Chuisle with his mom and driving from KS to IN (about a 9 hr drive) for my grandfather's funeral on Tuesday. I'm sad because of losing him and anxious because our entire clan (for the most part) will be there and that's a lot of crazy in one space. But, we'll get through it. :)
I loved this episode - not least because Sam mentioned the weasel bird photos I'd been looking at the day before! Actually my friend Angela's dad is a bird watcher, and knows the guy who took the pics. Sometimes real life IS weirder than fiction...LOL
Really enjoyed the ep. I didn't particularly feel the boys absence. Of course it wasn't directly about them, but it was nice to take a break from all the angst and have a MOTW ep like this. All the scenes were very well done.
Hey Gaelic, thanks for the Ramble. This filler...er, episode was OK in my book. I don't dislike Claire as much as everyone else and am actually glad she wasn't wrong about a monster lurking about. She's had a really, really tough life and I can see why she would be afraid to get emotionally involved with a new "family".
That said, I loved the family dinner and sex talk, and the boys' reactions to both. Great scene. I love that Jodi is still alive and kicking, albeit with one leg. :) All in all, not a bad filler.
Looking forward to getting back to the myth arc though. Thanks again for your positive thoughts which always make an enjoyable read. See you soon.
I absolutely loved this ep, love the girls and Jodi, loved the boys not quite knowing what to *do* in a houseful of women, two of whom are hormonal teenagers. It was delightful!
I did *not* know you were in Kansas. How did i not know that? Lawrence is an awesome town - or, it was when we lived in Olathe. I very much enjoyed going down there to walk the main drag and linger in the stores and eat awesome food. :)
And yep, been living in Lawrence, KS, since 2004. My hubs is from here, went to KU, etc. I grew up in IN, though, and have lived in many places including Ireland, AZ, and CO. Honestly, that's what caught my attention the night of the SPN pilot. I was flipping channels and saw, "Lawrence, KS, 22 years ago," and went, "Huh. How 'bout that." I watched and...well, the rest is history.
Lawrence is a great place to raise our kiddo, though. I love being based here and traveling around.
We head into Olathe quite a bit, actually! When the hubs was still an architect he worked off of Renner Rd. He's been a stay at home dad for about 5 years now, due to his Crohn's. Primarily, we go to the awesome AMC theater in Olathe now. ;)
Neat! I grew up in Missouri (and am back here now, ugh), but we lived in Olathe for about five years or so, right after Cat got out of the Army. We lived right across the street from the Olathe community Theatre, in this really beautiful but not well-kept Victorian house (we rented the top floor). Sadly, it's been torn down since.
It was awesome. Drove down to Lawrence a lot to visit pagan friends, recycle, camp, march in the very first Earth Day parade....
Good times, good times. :) I love KC - it's an excellent city.

HAHA! That had me cracking up.
I wonder how long it will be until we get back to business. I can't remember what the previews for next week were. I guess we'll find out together! :)
See you then.
