Egads, you guys! I have no idea how it got to be Saturday and I didn't get this posted! I actually thought I had already posted it, but that must have been Just My Imagination. (See what I did there?)

I also thought at the mention of a girl doing the killing that it could be Amara, though I hadn't thought out the why that would be as cleverly as you had. But going with Reese, is it my imagination or are both the boys getting taken down by the bad guys a LOT easier and oftener than in the past?

Guess age is catching up with them...

...and decided that she needed them to talk to her until she told them it was time to go. They couldn't just leave on their own. I love your family ( ... )

Leaving 9-yr-old Sammy alone in a motel (and then telling him to grab a bus to Milwaukee)--WTF? A NINE year old? Really? What was he supposed to do for food or if an adult showed up?

Those were my thoughts as well -- primarily because I have a 9 year old and couldn't IMAGINE leaving her in a hotel room let alone having her buy a bus ticket and ride a bus by her self. It has nothing to do with whether or not she'd be capable of it and everything to do with the fact that the world is filled with crazy people. I didn't want to hammer too hard on that point and risk offending folks or making them think I'm bagging on John, though. It has nothing to do with John as a character and everything to do with how the different writers choose to depict a loosely-framed childhood. Nine. Sheesh.

But I wish Dean would LISTEN and not just try to shut Sam up! Come on, he should know his brother will go ahead on his own by now!I know. Dean's defense mechanism with Sam's ideas or desires that run contrary to his own seems to be 'don't talk about the ( ... )

I'm not really enjoying the vision plotline... It's going too fast, I didn't feel any build up to going to the cage becoming the only option, I can't even feel like getting to Amara is THAT urgent at this point... Oh we'll see...
I did enjoy the Xana, but I felt the role they wanted Sully to play in advancing the vision storyline and Sam's resolve to go to the cage really forced...

It does seem slightly rushed and disjointed. Hopefully next week will fill in some gaps and smooth it out -- or at least get us to a place where we can accept the trajectory.

Hope the little one is doing better!

It's funny but when I saw the girl running away my first thought was that it was Charlie who'd somehow come back - lol! wishful thinking I guess ; p it would have been perfect if it had been Amara and I think show really missed an opportunity there. And I agree, somebody so tiny dragging a full grown guy must have had something more than Wheaties on her side ( ... )

The major bone I had to pick with them was why was it that Sam got a Xana and Dean didn't? When Dean was four he lost his mother, was basically raising his brother, had lost the only home he'd ever known, and no Xana for him!

Love this thought. I wondered that myself, actually. The only thing I could come up with was that Dean's 'ground' is the burden of proof. He wouldn't allow his guard down enough, even as a little kid, to accept the possibility of an imaginary friend. He's always felt it was on him, and felt the guilt if he couldn't do whatever (even if it was impossible for him to do so). He probably was sending out a beacon of need to the Xana, but they couldn't find an 'in' to help him out. My take on it, anyway.

I loved those darn sweaters. LOL!

The story itself left lots of question marks for me but I liked the scenes between Sully and Sam, and as you mentioned Dean saying that Sully was there for Sam when he couldn't be. I liked the car scene at the end for the reason that Sam didn't back down when Dean refused to hear him out. At least he is trying to share his thoughts instead of keeping them to himself and doing it all on his own. I agree with you though that assuming he has to actually go into the cage seems rather sudden. They don't know anything about what the visions mean yet. Sam's idea that he might have to enter the cage was mentioned last ep though, so the idea itself is not new ( ... )

Oh, I missed that! I mean, I recall him saying he was having visions of the cage, but I don't remember him saying that he has to go IN the cage. Makes me feel better that it was mentioned before, though, so thanks. :)

The whole thing is so contrived. I can better deal with Sam's speech to Charlie in Season 10 that he has changed.

100% agree.

I think you're right, Sully and Sam's conversation reinforces both Sam's accepting his role as a hunter and the idea that he can face his fears. I don't really have a problem with young Sam excitedly heading off to hunt with John (and more importantly, Dean); we've been told in the past how he hero-worshiped his older brother, so being allowed to hunt like Dean would be a proud moment for him. Also, I think the writers have slowly been bringing Sam around to finding a way to live in his (now) chosen path for quite a while. His speeches to Charlie and to Sully are only the most visible evidence of this. (I always go back to that shot of the two of them in the MoL library, Dean with his feet up, Sam with a book, sharing a drink--this is what I want for them ( ... )

OMG, I know!

And yeah...you gotta wonder how many more knocks to the head they can take.
