Not letting it win

So. The hubs and I have decided to challenge ourselves a bit. In support of not only a worthwhile cause, but an organization that may ultimately hold the key to my family's health (and, without sounding too overly dramatic, survival), we are training to walk (yes, walk...I'm committed, not crazy) our first half marathon to raise money for the Crohn ( Read more... )

I'm so happy for the both of you. Keep us updated as the marathon draws nearer! I'm definitely rooting for the both of you, from the training to the finish line. <3

Thank you!! Right now I don't even really have a concept of how far a mile is, let alone 13. But I'm gonna be figuring it out soon! Our first training day is the 28th and it goes on from there. :)

Thanks again!

Thank you! It's definitely pushing myself, this effort. But I believe it's worth it. :) Thank you for the kudos!

This is a wonderful thing you are doing and support you all the way to the finish line. It's wonderful the enthusiasm you and your husband have to this event. Having and being around others that totally understand what you are going through definitely helps you with your own struggles.

Good luck as you begin to train. When I started getting back into exercising I walked fairly slowly on the treadmill and within months my speed and agility had doubled and tripled. If you stay consistent in your training you can go very far and I have the confidence that you will be able to acclimate your body well enough that you will be able to finish the full 13.1 miles. I'm right behind you, pushing you all the way. So those hands you feel at your back are mine. Keep it up. You CAN DO IT!!!

Thanks, my friend! I'm going to need every virtual push. I'm nervous about starting the actual training. But I'm nothing if not tenacious. :)

I may ping you again and ask you to remind me that I can do this. LOL!

Oh honey - I recieved my email - I will pass it on, too! And I will work to raise a small sum to donate, as I know this is important, so SO important. And cheering and supporting?! Oh yeah! Right there!

I am proud of you, lovie. And I am constantly in awe of your little family. All my love to you and yours - and I'd wish you luck with this, but I know you guys won't need it. You will do as you alway have - bit by bit and together.

*hugs you tight*

Thank you so much my friend. You received the email because you are very important to me, but please please know I have no expectations that you will donate. Believe me, I get how tough things can be and how hard it is to scrape even $5 together sometimes.

Your support in spirit is treasured and I'll need your virtual pushes to get me over the finish line.

However...if you wanted to 'boost the signal'...I wouldn't be opposed. :) *hugs back*

I will do all I can - and even if all I can do is boost the signal, it'll make me feel better, knowing that I have done something.

You will always have them, sweetie.
