But that hand. Reaching for me.

Oh, that tugged at my heart.

No wonder Justin found it irresistible.

Fascinating chapter, Gael.

I think maybe Justin's so busy focusing on how Brian needs him to handle the practicalities that he's not recognizing that Brian is going to need him emotionally, and in his current state of being is likely to be much more open about expressing that need.

Of course, the Gus situation is going to clash with that.

Am really looking forward to how you work through this situation Gael. I suspect there will be storms ahead. But I'm sure the form the storms take will be different to what I'm expecting. They nearly always are.

Brian, Mr. Non-Emotion, is going through a roller coaster because
he has absolutely no shield on his emotions. TBI infamously causes
a lack on control of emotions and impulses.

I wouldn't be able to resist that hand!

Several moments stand out-Brian hugging Justin in the hospital room and looking lost-Justin really is his anchor right now, the one person he feels comfortable with when so much has changed for him. And going home with his belongings in two plastic bags, the old Brian would have had a designer tote bag or duffel. Gus pleading for his father to know him, wanting to hangout after dinner-he is desperately seeking normalcy but his father isn't able to really provide that now-but Brian is trying. Brian admitting to being afraid of the dark, I wonder how much of that is from feeling that he's lost control and whether it also comes from the hospital environment with the staff coming in at all hours to poke and prod at you.

Great chapter, hope Brian is up to some chocolate cake and a little time with Gus tomorrow. They both need it.

Thank you.

I think even with all the planning and Justin's past, none of them is actually ready. I wonder what Dr. Wilder was thinking when Justin called, especially since he thought that their becoming a couple is just part of Brian being self-destructive. Good of him to point Justin to therapy as well.
Does Brian remember that he and Justin were planning to take another step together?

This chapter felt like a storm is approaching, you know the forecast, you can see a few clouds, but you know there is something big and destructive approaching.
Great (and long-yay!!) chapter.
