Powerful and extremely emotional chapter!

I'm glad Michael is being appropriately supportive and not circumventing or diminishing Justin's right to be by Brian's side. Too bad Gus doesn't seem to learn his lessons -- even the hard way, letting his emotions get the better of his rational thinking.

I have almost given up giving Gus the benefit of the doubt. He's attitude is almost as harmful to Brian as Joan and Clair's behavior.

But it's a relief that Michael isn't combative with Michael at this critical time.

People forget that Gus is Brian's son, but he's also Lindsay's son,
and he's Joanie's grandson, with all that implies.

Wow! I never expected Brian's reaction to Gus! I'm glad Michael is showing maturity and standing by Justin. Hopefully, Gus will chill when he realizes Brian needs Justin to help with his recovery.

One result of TBI is loss of memory. Sometimes it's temporary, sometimes
it's not. But especially recent memory.

Brian just woke up. Confusion is the order of the day.

Oh No... If he thinks Gus is still young, then he’s not going to remember Ron... Why does that bother me most of all? In this stream, Ron seemed to give him exactly the kind of unconditional love he needed. Bad enough he lost the man, but to lose those memories too? Gaahh!

Thanks for the chapter Gaedhal - you must have posted just hours after I’d checked in last night. Yea!

I hope your mother continues to improve. I used to work in a rehab facility, and now I provide home care for the elderly or post-surgical patients. Also, palliative and hospice care, which I love. I know how difficult it can be having the added stress of caring for a sick or injured family member, when most of our lives are already hectic enough. Just remember to take care of yourself first, because it can be easy to forget... You’re a good daughter to neglect us so. /G

The thing about TBI is that it's unpredictable. The person might
recognize a visitor one time and then not the next time. But
it usually does get better with time and cognitive therapy,
which is, judging from things he's said, is what happened
with Gale.

And I thought ALL the fur flying would involve Joan and Clair.

You always find a way to astonish us. Gus's reaction seems selfish, but the last stable element in his life returned and did not acknowledge him. After the nerve wracking vigil, joy has been snatched from his life. Blaming Justin is unfair, but he needed a target for his confusion and anger. The evil ex was a natural choice. Gus still views Justin as a rival, not an allie even after their brief bonding in the initial shock when Justinstepped in and held everythng togther.. With luck, Brian's memory will include Justin before the break-up and this will help him have a strong positive relationshi until he recovers total memory. Justin and Michael can help him re estalih his relationship with Gus. Brian showed he remembers the toddler with love, that wil have to suffice for now. I see hours of physcotherapy ahead if Gus will accept it. On a seperate note, what does Joanie have on her greedy, bigoted mind that would require a lawyer? How worried should we be ( ... )

PS

Please excuse the typos. My keyboard seems to be wearing out and misses letters and spaces. My proof reading could have been better. Still loving the story.
