Ron took off his suitcoat and draped it over the back of the white sofa. Then he slipped off his tie and set it down. This was probably a terrible mistake. He'd do this and be depressed in the morning. He'd have to schedule an extra session with his analyst to talk about it. Then he'd call up his friend and ex-lover, Dorian, and tell him, "You'll never guess what happened to me when I was in Pittsburgh? Jack came back from the dead. Now how the hell am I supposed to deal with it?"
...gave me so much hope. Ron in therapy. Ron having had a romantic relationship with wonderful Dorian, and even though it didn't work out, they are still great friends. Yes, this is indeed a different Ron. This is a man who is someone I could see as being perfect for this particular Brian.
This is a Ron who had to face the failure of "The Olympian" -- and survive. He did. But it also gave him perspective on his life and the Film Industry.
He's also been in -- and out -- of a relationship with Dorian (not that big a surprise when you remember that he was in with him after "Nowhere Man"). But they've also remained good friends. This is a Ron who is not the emotionally isolated guy he was in December 2001. Just as Brian is not the in-denial/doesn't-believe-in-love guy he was at that point where "QT" began.
That is quite a cruel answer, dear, esteemed writer, to my hopes for an adult, loving relationship between those two. I simply chose to believe Ron, for a while, until you reminded me of all the reasons not to like him. *Big Sigh* And I was starting to hope for a happy end this time. Poor Brian!
I adore this confident older caring Ron. Brian is compelled to comMunicate with him. I have to admit that when i saw this line( "Nothing!" said Brian, turning away. He was afraid he was going to lose his erection.) I thought ohhh no, not again. So glad that was not the case.

I love this Ron! I hope so very much that this adult, grown up man will be able to help Brian grow up and be happy.

For Ron this Stream is certainly not "evil"
in the way that "Queer Theories" was. This
is his best outcome.
For Brian -- we'll see.
For Justin -- this is certainly as evil as it gets.
