File-sharing of entire albums, singles, and DVDs is not only illegal, but also wrongI can't help but hope I'm not the only one that feels this way

My mom actually works for a lawfirm that works entirely with intellectual property. I agree wholly that file sharing is wrong. I won't say that I don't do it, but I always feel horribly guilty afterwards. I know, so why do I do it in the first place? When it's one or two songs every now and then I don't feel badly, but when it's an entire CD, I don't feel right. Granted, a friend sent me a whole CD and then I passed it on to someone else, but I felt squimish about it afterwards. It made me feel sick that I had done it. I sound like a massive hypocrite don't I? Sorry....
I will agree that file sharing is wrong, but I can't claim that I haven't done it in the past. Mostly to see if I like the song before buying it, because illegal downloading through programs like Limewire does make me feel incredibly guilty. For instance I bought Moon child n DvD, even if I saw it online and downloaded it first.
I want to eventually own all Gackt CD's, as annoyingly there are no places to legally download such as on Itunes, though I think I heard a rumour about that being rectified.
But my problem is the cost. Lol, not only do I have to buy the CD in the USA which is expensive enough but then I have to spend at least $20 on shipping to get it to the UK. So I can see where people come from on the download side. Its not so much that they don't support Gackt, and won't but his merchandise whenever they can, but that there are money issues. Lol I have been saving up for months and I am soon buying A few CD's, I can't wait. But You can understand why people download...
I can understand downloading. That doesn't make me feel any better about it.
However, I will say there is a difference between people who download lots of music with no intent to ever buy it and those who download what they want and will later buy the music legally.
I definitly agree with you there. I download with the intent to buy, because I believe that the artist has put time, effort and money into making that album ( for instance though it also includes all music and film) for basically your enjoyment, its selfish and wrong to just enjoy the download without paying them back.

I agree with you about the downloading of Gackt's CDs and DVDs, so I'm going to put the picture on a post, and my user info page. Hope that's ok. :)
