Gacktastic Vid of the Day - Gackt's Tribute to John Lennon - Love

Dec 08, 2010 13:05

The true mark of the impact an artist has is to have their work performed by others, whether it's Gackt, or everyone today who is making themselves feel a little bit better on this 30th anniversary of the death of John Lennon by singing one of his songs.

The Beatles were the first band I ever fell head over heels for and John Lennon was my first musical idol. So many of us still miss him so deeply. I had the honor of being at the VAMPS concert in NYC on what would have been John's 70th birthday, October 9th. And when Hyde and KAZ played 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds' I think I was the only one in the audience crying.

Thank you for posting this. It's nice to know that other people still recognize how much we've lost.

Very sensual performance. The guitar just sounds unusual.

I love the first half of this. His English sounds pretty good too.

The second half isn't quite as good but that's because he can't keep still. Now we know why he favours the head mics instead of ones on stands when he plays guitar XD
