hp woes...not that hp...

My computer crashed over the weekend so I did all my research and was finally set to buy a MacBook Pro this weekend for the very first time - and then last night, my laptop miraculously started working again.

I don't know whether to be relieved or disappointed... ;)

Buy the MacBook anyway! You'll never look back. Plus, if your compy is crashing intermittently, it might signal a degrading hard drive or something. If you get the MacBook now, you can transfer your data off before things go completely pear-shaped :o)

LOL, I already have all my info on a purple external hard-drive from apple so now all I'm missing is the computer! ;)

Next debacle = MacBook or MacBook Pro?

And hello, lovely Claire, meet the most indecisive person in the HISTORY of the WORLD.

Hee!

I actually read a review in the main Auckland newspaper that said the MacBook slightly outperformed the MacBook Pro. It's slightly lighter, and of course a little cheaper.

However, the MacBook Pro gives you the option of going to 8GB of ram instead of only 4, and you can choose a solid state drive instead of a hard drive, which is much more robust if getting rattled and banged around a lot. It looks like the processor is faster too, even on the lowest-spec one. My #1 rule when buying computers is get the fastest processor and most ram you can afford, and leave yourself room to upgrade later.
