Words of wisdom for women

Really? So all that crying on Tara's lap at the end of Dead Things was just allergies?

Well, of course.

What? You actually thought she had feelings or something? SHE IS A FEELINGLESS NASTY PERSON. AND WAS ONLY CRYING BECAUSE TARA'S PERFUME WAS ONION-FLAVOURED.

...or, on the other hand, you might be totally right about everything ever. I haven't decided yet.

ALSO, SHE WANTED TO MAKE TARA'S LAP ALL WET AND TELL PEOPLE TARA PEED HERSELF. AS A PRANK. BUFFY'S SUCH A BITCH!!!

I think Spike said it pretty well in 'Touched'.

"I'm not asking you for anything. When I say, "I love you," it's not because I want you or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I've seen your kindness and your strength. I've seen the best and the worst of you. And I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You're a hell of a woman."

Spike knows he shouldn't expect anything and Buffy knows she doesn't owe him anything. They can still get together, but it's up to them. Fannish opinion be damned.

In other news, I love this post. I love it so much that it owes me sexy times. *nods*

Hmmmm...this post may just use your love to get some sexytimes for its own purposes...AND THEN IT'LL NEVER BE PUNISHED FOR IT!

Post: I'm using you. I can't love you. I'm just ... being weak, and selfish...

Me: (moves even closer) Really not complaining here.

Yowza. What spurred the rant?

At any rate, contrary that I am, I'm going to agree with you. There's no "should" when it comes to love--you either do or you don't, and it's not something that you can will to happen or will away. Should Buffy have loved Spike for all the things he did for Dawn? No. The only thing there was to do was to be kind, which is just general human decency anyway.

Is there anyway to top purposely getting a soul? Nothing I can think of, not that it's a matter of who does it better--as long as one is sincere...that's all that can really be done.

However, I will say that AYW just generally rubs (some) people the wrong way for a plethora of reasons, one of which (a big one) is that it seems that Riley's intervention spurred the entire thing and...no, I will not go further and explain and get into an inevitable debate about an ep which I detest very much. Nope!!

I have no cake icon at the mo', but I offer it anyways :)

Oh, and this--

If a guy gives you a ride, you don't owe him a blowjob. <--- Something I ( ... )

We agree??? This makes me so happy!

The rant was spurred by a comment thread in my Spuffy Baggage post. Though it's not an uncommon attitude in fandom, and I'm just tired of it. *sigh*

I agree that AYW is...bad. So much of it comes off wrong, the execution is wonky beyond hell, and Riley's a pod!person. But the final scene with Buffy breaking up with Spike is good. Only decent scene in the episode.

Dude. WORD. And why does this have to be said? Why is common sense not all that common?

People are stupid. I have no clue. It depresses me.

Also, I'm not big on using 'retarded' as an insult. Let's try to avoid it in the future on my LJ, please? :)

No problem, didn't mean to offend, and done :)

I was gonna make a "I love this post so much that it owes me sexytimes" comment, but someone beat me to it. Drat!

Instead I'm just gonna say THANK YOU. All the people who say That Bitch Buffy didn't do enough to get Spike to forgive her just make me want to slam my head into a wall. Repeatedly. Maybe forever. I hate that.

Someone--I forget who and it's killing me--recently made a post about the differences between Angel and Spike and their ways of atonement and how Angel's all about the guilt and the brooding and Spike recognizes that that doesn't change anything and so he just changes himself. Do you remember who wrote that one?

Anyways, they're similar, because I think a lot of people think that Angel's way is superior and want to see Buffy do that...while I think Spike's way is the way to go about it and that it's also how Buffy approaches things as well.

The Buffster's my girl, too. :D

Oh, that post sounds familiar....dammit, I'm not good at remembering stuff like that. I know what you're talking about, though.

YES! Buffy doesn't wallow and brood. She fixes things. She changes her behavior. Seriously, past AYW, Buffy's fantastic towards Spike in S6. And that's when he's becoming a real asshat towards her, too.

It was a good post.

I can understand needing words. I'm one of those people for whom words mean a great deal. But Spike doesn't seem to need them and I totally think that changing of behavior is the only real way of knowing if someone is really penitent.

I don't know about "fantastic." She's clearly trying very hard, but I think she has a few slip-ups, and Spike's at a place where he's so desperate for any crumb from her that he takes those slip-ups and runs with them and then he reaches his breaking point and SR happens.

But I do think she tries very, very hard.

You go about it the wrong way: Slam their heads into a wall. ;-)

And yes to the rest of your post - action speaks louder than words!

(Head shooting women icon for you - again!)
