Had my interview with Dr. Villacorta this morning. He's the head of the nuclear Medicine section at the Makati Medical Center. It appears that I've been "endorsed favorably for fellowship training" by the training officer Dr. Antonio Garcia and so I now have to sit tight and wait for a phone call from the Medical Education office ( Read more... )

Thanks. I'm really keeping my fingers crossed cause this lull between residency and my "next stage" is driving me crazy. I've had a couple of very good offers to practice in various clinics in the neighboring provinces and the billing schedules/professional fees are really tempting. However, I'd really like to go into a subspecialty now while I still have the drive to study/train and while I still haven't experienced having loads of money in my hands. Besides, I can't be affiliated with a tertiary hospital or with a medical school unless I have a subspecialty. Let's face it, there really is so much more prestige in the medical field when you are with the academe or with big-name hospitals.
