You could probably start with the desert right in your back yard. I'll bet some of the views at dawn and at twilight would blow everyone away.

And yes, it's breathtakingly beautiful here, too. The problem is that when you're in the middle of the city, you can't take a picture that doesn't have streetlights or wires in it. I'd have to drive quite a way to be able to take photos anything like these. It's why I usually stick to close up photos of plants and such, alas.
