Who knows of good places to post SW fanfic? I know of the JC, the TF.N Archive, FF.N, marafics, and swfanfic, but that's about it. Are there other nifty places out there I'm missing?

fanfic, star wars, help plz

You've basically named them. (Though I'd hesitate to name marafics a major player - Our area of SW fandom just hasn't embraced LJ that much.)

There's that message board Trace and some of the others use, but it's been pretty dead there since Sacrifice. (And I don't have the URL handy.)

Or the mailing lists, but those are pretty dead, too.

As far as general fandom goes, An Archive of Our Own looks to be the next big thing, but it's still in closed beta.

It may not be a major player, but I am fond of it and like pimping it. :P

Huh - I've been focused on the JC/TF.N Archive side of things for a long time, but I didn't realize it had gone so dead. When I first started, there seemed to be quite a few more, even if they weren't all big players. Of course, there's always using one's own LJ and alerting jedi_news, I suppose.

But I had not heard of that last, and I knew you'd know the lay of the land on teh interwebs. Thanks, Dunc! :D

It's called "Star Wars Fan Fiction" and here's the link: http://swff.bpweb.net/

But yeah, it's been pretty dead. The social thread gets some convo every now and then, but not many stories are being posted or updated and I just haven't had time to keep up with it since getting the mod gig at TFN. (And, honestly, it was mostly created for Adult fics by a few of us who left the Skywalker Story Board.)

I think you've covered the primary ones. Most of the others I know of are specific to a particular niche -- Leia/Han (Use a Kiss), Luke & Vader (Bast Castle), pilot fic (DownTime, which is a forum rather than an archive, anyway) and so on. AFAIK they're fairly quiet in terms of activity.

I can't think of others either, except a few yahoo groups, that are pretty quiet too... It's really sad how quiet is has become... I'm particularly sad about SWFF that has some really great stories (and is even more badly needed since FFN and JC& TFN don't take adult stuff) but ok, I should shut up. I could just begin with reading, commenting and posting myself! :C

I guess I'll have to use ff.n and link the hell out of it or stick with my own site.
