Could this be...fall in love? XD

I always discover good things too late, and only heard about Pushing Daisies when it was announced that it was cancelled. Since that was the case, I decided to wait until it was over and just watch them all on DVD ( Read more... )

Yes, 'Pushing Daisies' was definitely fun... in the beginning. Then it got rather repetitive, which is saying something for such a strange show. I got very tired of the 'woe is me, I can't touch Chuck' and the 'oh noes, how do I confess that I killed her father?' parts that happened way too often and in irritating fashions (I can't count the number of times I said to my TV 'just f***ing tell her already). I think the show had great potential and beautiful ideas, but no real direction, so they kept bouncing back and forth between the same old stuff and it lost its shine ( ... )

Ahh, I can see what you mean, that would get annoying. I wish they had let it run longer, or at least had given it two full seasons so that thet could give it the ending they wanted, instead of one they had to come up with.

I'll still hope for a movie to finish it off! (Although I'm still waiting for a Veronica Mars movie too.)

That's a part I didn't think about, how the series wouldn't be able to reach a proper conclusion. That is one of the reasons why I never finished the 'Firefly' DVDs a couple friends pushed on me. The series was fun enough, but knowing that it didn't end, I stopped watching once I was satisfied with what I had watched. =P There just wasn't a point to continue, which is a sad thing.

But truthfully, how many series (at least in the American releases) really make it to a proper conclusion? TV producers are interested in money, not the story, so TV series are typically designed with no satisfying conclusion such that fans will encourage the network to continue the series to a next season. I think that's why I enjoy many JDramas - they seem to start with an actual ending in mind.

Well, at least we all have our imaginations to rely on for the rest. That's one of the reason I fell in love with fanfiction. It's nice reading what could have happened or else what should have happened. ;)

I haven't seen the Firefly series, but oddly enough I've watched the movie Serenity. I think that gave some closure if you wanna check it out! Lol, I probably shouldn't think that way, but it makes it easier for me to watch. If some there's some foreshadowing or a new storyline, I won't get too excited about it or look forward to some big reveal, and just enjoy whatever comes next. I'm hoping to watch ep4 tonight ( ... )
