Oh, I didn't mean to be sad! I was probably not very clear because my head still hurt too much to be mucking about on the Internet, but as I said: I bore easily.
It's a happy realization mostly. The condition of missing a specific person towhom you do not have access and perhaps does not really exist in the way you are imagining is impossible, but missing people in general is much less impossible-- they're lying around everywhere! You only have to look around to find one worth talking to, and chances are they'll be glad you tried. So it's a much easier game to win than the other.
