tony felings, pt. 29000

So today I've been thinking about Tony Stark floating in space, watching the most magnificent, advanced structure he's ever seen torn to pieces while his suit and body give out around him. Because, okay, in my mind, that's what makes it okay for him to die in that moment. Like, to himself, he's okay closing his eyes and letting it happen. Not just ( Read more... )

GOD IT WAS SO GOOD. The silence and the softness, the colors and the peace.

I want all the fic about Tony's headspace right then, just yeah. Tho I don't really understand why the suit failed I guess? I mean if he can be underwater, certainly it can hold up to a little vaccuum? Maybe its something you need comic context to get, idk

I'm sure there are Science Reasons. No comics one that I can think of, but it's been a while since I read any Avengers space adventures.

You've made me think of something. How long before SHIELD has the tech to build something like that floating whale-centipede? I mean, they've already got a high-altitude hovercraft/submersible/aircraft carrier. And with Tony and Bruce on the job, scarier, more ambitious, more alien super-structures can't be far away. Earth may have handed back the Asgardian tech, but I doubt that's going to stop the arms war.

YESSS. Because, okay, so they gave up the tesseract, but they've got a year of data on it, they've got the carcasses of however many aliens and space whales complete with armor, they have Tony and Bruce like kids in a horrible candy store. Dissection is where they go right after shwarma.

He saw the most beautiful thing that he figured he'd have to build himself to see, and then he blew it up! TONY STARK: SON OF A GUN.

Massive, massive beyond thinking it, the most magnificent thing a human being has ever seen. It's okay then. It's okay to close his eyes.

nguuuuuuuuuuuuuuh.
