( The sound of soft snoring was the only noise to fill the otherwise silent on-call room. Callie listened to the steady breathing in and out of her sleeping companion. It brought her some comfort, knowing that she was not alone. Occasionally, it would lull her into her own sleep and she was grateful for those rare moments of rest. )
