Yikes, glad to hear you guys are okay! I thought of you all the minute I saw the pics of DC on the news- and they were really something! OMG!

*hugs* Oh and happy belated birthday, sorry, I'm terrible about stuff like that.

Thanks! We really got lucky, but then again Hurricane Isobel and the wacky storms we got the August after that took out a lot of the bigger, older trees. There were still some pretty big ones down, though.

Work was closed today -- the building still had no power. I'm starting to freak out about how I'm ever going to get my work done...

Crazy weather day! Germantown had winds gust of 83 mph. That is hurricane level!

Yikes! Channel 9's news just said some areas had straight line winds faster than the ones in the F1 tornado that hit one area!

Yeah, it was a crazy day. And now they are saying that it is going to be 97 degrees on Sunday.

97!

With scattered thunderstorms.

I am SO not working on my garden this weekend. I have to go out tomorrow to mow the lawn, but beyond that... nada. I'm staying in.

Yeah -- if I have to be in this weekend to make up for today, it is NOT going to be on Sunday. YUCK!

Actually, there were several blinks before it died because with every blink I tried to shut off my computer and it would blink again, just as I was going for the keys...

And, guess what, folks? We're off today because the building is still toast!

Yeah -- I mentioned the blipping lights. I'd got up and walked away from my desk when the first one killed my computer, because I was going to talk to the person I'd been sending the e-mail to. *sigh* I hope my stupid computer isn't dead...

Hopefully not. It's such a pain in the ass.

I just don't get why they refuse to buy new UPS -- it's cheaper than having to replace hard drives, damn it!
