So, I've been taking medicine for my anxiety since I was a junior in High School (yet I had the melt down Junior year of college, but whatever). I've thought of weening off of it a few times in the past, but just never have (for one reason or another). I forgot to refill my prescription...well, couldn't refill my prescription, and haven't been ( Read more... )

I meant to write back about the car, but being the scatter brain that I am...I'm loan shopping right now, which is horrible, and I'm hoping to get one soon! I'll try to keep more in touch!

If you're trying to go without meds for a while, first:

let yourself get a little stressed. you're going to have a little anxiety simply because you're changing your behavior and letting go of that safety net. So you're going to freak out a little. the anxiety always goes away in the end.

I know I'm always being some holy-roller health nerd and suggesting stuff, but there are dozens of people I know personally who benefitted from taking Country Life's Omega 3 Mood fish oil. That particular blend of Omega 3 fatty acids helps people with brain health and mood. A lot of them were on anxiety/depression drugs, and now they take fish oil. If you don't like it after a few weeks, that's cool. But there are numerous complimentary effects (like healthier heart and better immune function) and no bad side-effects.

Also, Raymond and I love you and think you're awesome! Whether you're stressed or not.
