I think everyone was disappointed with today's show. It was really rushed.
And as great as Van did, the death scenes did nothing for me. IMO Luke/Reid was just as rushed and contrived as Chris/Katie. So all the declarations of love rung hollow for me.
And yeah, most people were pretty... cold and clinical when it came to Reid's death. All it shows me is that Reid became nothing more than a plot point in the end.
The death scenes got to me, but not as much as I expected them to. It sounds weird, but...I wanted them to be totally heartbreaking, and for whatever reason, they weren't. Maybe when I re-watch.
Everyone was pretty cold, right? I don't get it. Effing show. I will never understand some of their decisions regarding storylines.
This episode was so awful, insulting, and horrific. I was telling my best friend about it on the phone and she just kept saying, "Oh my God. Oh my GOD. OH MY GOD." I mean, it was like the biggest pile of fail ever (Except for Van and Eric, of course.)
Two things that have been obsessing me the last few hours?
1) They left Luke alone. They harrassed him until they got the heart, and then they all abandoned him. He was alone in that hallway. ALONE.
2) They didn't tell Katie. Luke left alone in a motherfucking hallway grieving the man he loves is confronted by a cheerful Katie chirping about fairytales, and has to tell her himself that his boyfriend, and her roommate/friend is dead
THEY LEFT HIM ALONE.
Where was Casey? Why did no one call his mother? Where is the empathy, vultures????
Poor BB, Luke. First, to have his love brutally ripped away before it even began, and then to have to endure the "vultures" as everyone's calling them, and THEN on top of it all to face it all ALONE. Seriously, writers, what the hell were you smoking when you wrote this episode. I will never forgive them for doing this to my Luke, and for pointlessly killing Reid.
I'm glad Katie at least had the sense to be upset over Reid. Lord knows there weren't enough people upset today. Poor Luke. Poor us.
Luke has about eleventy billion family members...where the hell were they?! You're right, someone should have - at the very LEAST - called Lily. Jesus H. Christ, the writing fricking slays me, in bad ways.
Since his injuries were beyond repair and he was a DNR the doctors weren't supposed to do anything to save his life. But, y'know, he might've made this known to Bob or someone since he was on staff there. *eyeroll*
John also pissed me off. He was ranting about the tests that needed to be done and all that shit, when I wanted to say everyone get the fuck out of the room and let Luke have time with his boyfriend before he fucking dies.
Okay, I feel better now. :D
No, I don't care about Katie and Chris. If they had been together for 6 months or more and had a long romance together (i.e. Carly/Jack) I might have more empathy.
UGH. Don't even get me started on the fricking DNR thing. Jesus. Reid was too damn young to have a DNR in the first place. Just how stupid are these writers? I think we're finding out.
I wanted to say everyone get the fuck out of the room and let Luke have time with his boyfriend before he fucking dies.
My sentiments exactly. It's as if Reid stopped being a person and just became one gigantic, beating heart. Everyone but Luke could see nothing else but saving frigging Chris. UGH.
I'm at the end of my rope with Katie/Chris. I love Katie and always will, but I'm done with this coupling. The Chris/Katie ship can capsize for all I care.
Finally got around to reading your recap--right on! Though I'll admit I lost it as soon as the episode started and the flashing police lights were flashing because I just knew Reid was on his way out. *sighs* I cried the entire episode (good thing I took the afternoon off from work) and my niece was right beside me to help
( ... )
These two freakin' loved each other, and Luke is so upset and sad and Reid--he's like at peace with death because he was loved by Luke Snyder.
This is what pisses me off the most about this stupid ending. I have a really hard time dealing with situations where people lose their loved ones. It really bugs me. So to have this, when Luke and Reid are so obviously crazy about one another, and to know it all could have been avoided (since this is fiction, after all), REALLY ticks me off. It's the main reason why I can't buy into this ending. They loved each other too much and hadn't gotten to experience enough...so I'm not buying it. :-P
