  • FUN!!!!!
  • Mud! Lots and lots of mud. I think the money I paid for the cheap mud boots I bought before the festival is the best $18 I've ever spent.
  • FUN!!!!!
  • Sun! A surprising amount of it considering all of the rain and mud. Note to self: sunblock only works when properly applied. I'm now sporting a rather spectacular farmer's tan.
  • FUN!!!!!

In retrospect, she said that it was because for the first time ever an entire country treated them like they were normal.

Well, Toronto isn't quite the whole country, much as most Torontonians often assume otherwise. :-) But yes, even in some smaller communities things are pretty cool. When my friends Maíre and Deb booked the country inn they got married at -- in a tiny little town a couple of hours east of Toronto -- they asked the proprietor if it was going to be a problem that they were two women getting married, and she assured them it wasn't, and seemed genuinely astonished that they would even ask.

Really, truly, I just love Canada. I really hope that the United States grows up to be just like it one day.

Hmmmm... Sounds like you might possibly not be averse to the idea of maybe moving here someday... :-)

Perhaps. If I have a sufficiently compelling reason to relocate. :-)
