*sits at his desk in his office thinking of the million and two times he's been called by the person in charge of the bridge to make a report just as things are extremely busy in engineering and taking the few seconds to report on his progress has occasionally made things very dicey in Engineering

Commander, or the title of whomever was in charge of the bridge at the time in order to make the reports sound as if they are being done in reality*
