Okay -- I give -- I'll say "uncle" or whatever the hell else the universe would like me to say, but I JUST CANNOT STAND THIS PAIN ANY LONGER!!!! I am seriously ready to drive myself to an emergency room (on the condition that I could actually still walk to my van, get in it, and drive) and beg for a c-section. I am beyond being able to sanely deal ( Read more... )

I'll have company soon -- Rob is on his way home from work for the day. I am hoping to be able to go back to bed at some point since I didn't get much sleep during the night. Thanks for the offer, though!

You know, this is exposing one really annoying failing of humans at this point in evolution--it would be so much more useful if we could share pain. I mean, your pregnancy alone would have been so much easier if we all could have taken shifts with leg cramps. Or, failing that, pain would make much more sense if it had an off switch, like an alarm clock--or at least a snooze button. It's quite a flawed alert system, imho.

I don't know a ton about this, but what are the dangers of inducing labor? Or, seriously, are you in a category to make c-section a possibility?

It's a long shot, but is there anyplace that throwing money at would help? By the time we had a bathroom added to your house, you'll have the baby already, I suppose. Please let me know if there's anything short of commissioning a bathroom that would help--I'm pretty darned sure that we could all come up with some money, if there's something useful it could buy.

What great ideas! I wish someone had gotten your input when designing humans. :<) I realized similar thing when I had the spine injury, meaning that I just could not figure out a reason for a human being to experience that much pain. I mean WHAT IS THE POINT??? It's one thing to give a signal: "Hey, a tiger is eating you." It is another thing to feel the tiger eating you one bite at a time over the course of an hour. I mean, WHY????

At the moment, given the gestational age of the baby and the fact that he is sideways, induction would almost certainly lead to a c-section. I'm close to not caring if I have a c-section, but not quite there yet. As uncomfortable as I am, I would have weeks of recovery if I had surgery, and a baby who might be young enough to need to stay in the hospital.

And you're right -- by the time a bathroom was built, I'd probably already have a baby. Maybe if I just go out back and carry around some lumber.....
