APA Confusion

i'm not 100% sure about this, but you could probably do it this way:

"[We] see the most slavish test prep in inadequate schools, not the best schools" (p. 51).

brackets tend to work for most formats.

if you don't think that's right, and really need it, i have the APA style guide around here somewhere, and can actually go look it up.
