So I managed to get a copy of Arsene Lupin vs Herlock Sholmes in *gasp* English!! So I read like... 1/2 of it while doing my laundry (its a nice 300 pages) All I know is I HAVE to get a copy of this book.... I would've loved it even if I'd never even read Detective Conan and Magic Kaito ( Read more... )

lupin, books, theives

...you must tell me where you managed to get a hold of this book. Seriously.

And I know what you mean about Holmes' character being different from a different perspective >.> But of course, the Holmes fanatics aren't going to see it that way, you know XD

Of course!! But thats why I'm a Lupin fanatic instead... after all I like... spazzed for Shinichi and he was like number one bishie...

But the second I met Kaito well.... he just couldn't compair XD (*pets neglected detective*)

As for where I found it... I'd gone and looked for it at the college library this summer but I only found a french version... I went and rechecked and discovered they have like an ANCIENT (all it has is the "copy right 1910 and i think the books from the 40's/50's so not that old but it looks it XD) copy of hte english one (I can read the french version but I'm really rusty and my passe simple isn't so hott) ya might check if your college has it or mebbie inner library loans if they offer that.... it took me 2 years to finally get ahold of lupin vs holmes... (herlcok sholmes techiniccally but thats only due to copy rights) cuz while I've found translations of extrodinary adventures of.. under public domain online and while i've got 2 versions of that one in french.... well... this is just like BWAH?

Heheheheh. Is that "The Hollow Needle", or the other one?

Indeed, Lupin's very tongue-in-cheek, but think of it this way....from the Holmes perspective, Lupin's just as arrogant as Holmes is to the Lupin perspective. :B LeBlanc wrote the books mainly to poke fun at the British. Oh, you crazy French people.

*hugs Shinichi* You'll always be my favorite!

*grins* oh thats entirely true of course... It how Kaito always has a tendency to be less cute and cuddly in DC where as Shincihi seems a little less human in say the Kaito KID vs Shinichi Kudo special ^^

And ya can't blame Leblanc for a fight that just wont' end between the two nations ^_~ Gotta love the french

But yeah I think its just the "verses" one containing the blue diamond and the lottery ticket- at least thats what i've reached so far... I'm not sure completely since I've tried to keep myself from spoiling too much (somewhat failed since I know too much from all the fanfics that lead to me to go look up summary's and facts) but I haven't seen anything about the hollow needle yet unless its part of the end and as a second part (which might be in this version if its actually an anthology)

If not I'll probably have to go back to battling the french language so I can finish the series ^^;;
