You could just start up with the most recent chapter XP I don't remember where you start, but given nothing important has happened in over a year- I don't think you need to catch up ^^;;; (did the same thing with naruto three chapters ago XP)
I AM JADED AND SAY THAT ALAS, THIS WILL NOT BE WHAT HAPPENS.
Personally, I would want him to stay at Shinichi rather than change back to Conan, since that would make everything MORE complicated. Also Ai would be the only one who would know where the apotoxin is and therefore, they might not actually FIND it until too late/everything's over.
... and it will be in the most obvious place ever. :|a

Yo I was/am jaded too and still expect absolutely nothing to come from this case.
But you have to admit, it's been years since Gosho went back to original conan-esque (Hey look! it's kogoro, ran, conan, and agasa with NOONE else even on the same side of the planet).
And he's never given us one of those "It all started with- blha blha" intros.
And yup ^_^ They said "It took 30 minutes longer than they expected so we had to wait outside the bathroom-"
Odd that we just get that footnote and not shinichi going "OMG OMG WILL I GET TO STAY THIS WAY? *SQUEE*"
