@10:50 Brian is answering the question wether there's any talks or thoughts of an album with him, roger and adam. He says no, there's no plan at the moment but you never know, that at the moment they're working on keeping the live association going, but no studio talks. Then he recalls how much time and efforts they put in the album with PR and that nobody cared, that at the end of the day even though people enjoy seeing them at the concerts, at home they want to listen to queen as it began, with freddie, and not somebody else singing his parts on the record. And then he says new stuff maybe people would but they're not sure it would be the right thing to do, that they're busy, etc
( ... )
I would have been disappointed, ngl. And tbh Brian's comment surprised me a little. But no one can accuse him of not loving and supporting Adam. Maybe he has this very clear image of a Bond song sung by a woman. Also he's been working closely with Kerry for years and she needs her big break.
I don't have any faith that they can still write songs that I'll love. I don't even like half of queen's original songs tbh. but the ones I do love, I love a lot.
me too. part of their magic was that they were a team, imo. sure, sometimes they wrote great songs independently but they had to have influenced each other's creativity just by thinking about who would be singing or playing the song.
i don't want them to write with adam at all. i don't think they still have it in them to write hits. maybe they were only good as the queen foursome. brian has had no hit with kerri, so i'm not to sure about his hit making skills.
tbf the songs on Kerry's first album are not written by Brian, except for the queen covers. Apparently he wrote a new song for Kerry's new album, we'll see I guess.
I would love to see if what they can come up with for Adam. Or with Adam. I think both "The Show Must Go On" and "These Are the Days of Our Lives" are great songs.
Of course, they were written for a singer they'd worked with for 20 years and knew everything about. But I heard a song that Brian wrote for Kerry Ellis and it sounded great.
I love the hugeness of Brian May's style, and I think one of his songs could fit very nicely in the overblown ballad spot on an Adam album.
What I like about Roger Taylor's work is the maturity of the content. TATDOOL is written by a middle-aged person and unapologetic about it. I'm not sure that fits with Adam's Peter Pan persona, but it might be interesting to see if those two perspectives could play off each other.
I would not expect either song to make a great single, but that's not what you're asking.
I had no idea Brian wrote that song Dangerland. I don't hate it but to be honest I think at 2:12 it turns into some kind of cheesy bombastic broadwayish stuff. But I agree that when Brian does grandeur well, it slays. Interesting remark about Roger.
