question chartnonny, can you tell how much of the the CHR drop in spins is from one station KUDD cutting back?

also thank you, and yay CHUM!

Quite a lot of it is due to that and another station has lowering their spin rate (something that's not unusual0. When a song is getting 5000+spins it's not so noticeable when a station cuts back, they do so all the time with all songs except those from the really big radio names, and then often increase again a few weeks later. When a song's not getting all that many spins you notice the difference far more. Spin totals are close at this end of the chart and it's easy to go up or fall down a few place with only a small change in spins. Also without seeing daily updates of songs below 50 it's hard to see the daily fluctuations. It's possible spins have been higher than this and that they're yo-yo'ing around a bit ( ... )

I feel like I'm getting valuable information for future reference. Thank you chartnonny.

Seems like I should've learned it all during the FYE era but I clearly wasn't paying attention

Stolen from radiostationworld as they explain it far better than I can:

Adult contemporary
Simply referred to as 'AC', adult contemporary music stations are aimed at people age 30 years and older. These stations offer lively contemporary music of the past decade or two without cutting edge music, rock or rap music.

Hot AC
Stations with this format have a slightly younger target audience than the ac format. More upbeat music and more cutting edge music is prevalent. Hot AC is a hybrid between pop and AC music with an almost exclusive concentration on current hits and music of the past 12 months.

Yay for nearly hac 17! The song is nearly a hit! ;P
