TITLE: Only As Crazy RATING: G FANDOMS: Temeraire/Firefly SUMMARY: Captain and Dragon banter. Nothing more. WORDS: 1175 NOTES: *facepalms* I didn't intend to fic Temeraire. Frick. Or Firefly for that matter. Double-frick. ( On, to the fic! )
I like it - a bit of a change in making Serenity into a dragon instead of a spacecraft - a bit of Eregon and Firefly, eh? Would love to have heard how the two of them managed to create the bond that makes Captain and Dragon work together...
Excuse me, ErAgon - new dragon movie coming out on 20th Century Fox. A farmboy finds a dragon egg, and becomes the "Last of the Dragonriders". Jeremy Irons is in the credits. When I read the story above, I thought maybe you had seen the trailer, and patterned the ship after the dragon. IF I remember Firefly correctly, the ship has a quirky personality to it...
Book by Christopher Paolini. So far, the critics do not care much for the movie.

Kaylee was raised from her pappy's knee with a knowin' of dragons. He'd been ground crew, even if her daddy thought it was a damn fool thing to be.
It didn't stop her dreaming of them, with their big wings, and beautiful eyes and imagining about being a hundred feet into the sky, climbing on the rigging.
She always wanted to fly, even cut off all her hair and pretended to be a boy to get onto one of them. Captain Reynolds had seen right through it, but he hadn't minded, not a jot, and she was allowed. Her and Wash were both, and soon enough, they were the best ground crew any dragon could ever have.
Got used to the flyin' too. Wash had fallen asleep in his position. She didn't mind, curling up against the dragon's warm belly and listening to its heartbeat. She stroked the warm hide gently and she felt the rumble under her hand.
"Good girl," she whispered and felt the purr of pleasure from Serenity.
