Dear Festividder - this is perfect. First of all, in a million billion years I never would have figured Adam Lambert for Profit but this song works so incredibly well. (I have now cracked and bought Lambert's CD on Amazon.com). And you've perfectly captured the mood of the series, and the creepy pretty of Profit. You totally had me with his eyes fading into the city, and his awkwardness with people and that great moment when he's sort of surprised by his own tears - it's just amazing and everything I could have wished for. Thank you.

Yay success! Enjoy the CD :)

And I have now moved Profit way up on my to-watch list.

It is my favourite show EVAR EVAR EVER and there are only 8 eps. Whether you're in the "Jim's a psychopathic monster and fun because he's so evil" camp or the "holy fuck is he actually trying to save these people from themselves in order to get a real family?" camp... you'll love it.

I admit, I LOLed when I read this. I'm spreading the gospel of Adam Lambert, and I'm not even that big a fan. His songs are just incredibly viddable, probably because of all of the drama in his voice.

That's directly from the source: I did no layering or masking. Just think, that was the height of special effects back then!

just amazing and everything I could have wished for

Once again, thank you. Your response was everything I could have wished for. :D

Oooh I love this! First, you had me at Adam Lambert, then at Adrian Pasdar and then at awesome vid! I am very intrigued and I love how I get a sense of who this man is and how messed up his life is. Very cool.

Man I looove this song.

It's my favorite non-dance song (I am a sucker for dance songs) so I totally get that. And I totally need to watch Profit very soon!

Wow. I never would've figured Adam Lambert to work for this fandom either (admittedly, I think I only ever saw maybe one episode when I was tiny), and damn. This is a beautiful evocation of a man strung out on a wire between the scraping claw of his past and the scraped-clean blast radius of his present. And I totally mixed a fuckton of metaphors there, but I think in this case I might be justified.

LOL. Thank you! I am honored to be the recipient of your mixed metaphors. :)

*FLAIL*

Vidder, you are *awesome*. Not only for this excellently unexpected combination of source and music (I...may have cackled in an unseemly manner when the credits revealed Mr Lambert as the musician), but for what you *did* with it. It's all good, but the bit that gave me shivers was the Jim-in-the-box montage with "after the way you loved me". GOOSEBUMPS.

So, yes, again: *FLAAAAAAAIL* Awesomeness. :D

Thank you! I have to admit, I squeed when I saw your post on the whole conversion to Adam Lambert thing. Like I said to giandujakiss above, I'm actually not even that huge a fan of his. His songs just make for good vidding because of the high drama that he imbues them with.

Yeah, it was downright weird how well the lyrics worked for Profit, once I'd made that first mental twist.
