Hmmm... suggestions?

I've been thinking lots about borders and frames around my photos. I've been doing them ever since I knew how to do them, but are they really necessary? I used to think that they gave a more professional look to my photos, but I'm not so sure anymore. Sometimes borders work, sometimes they don't. What are your thoughts on borders? i don't ever put borders on things, but sometimes they do make things look good.

water marks however always make things look pretty bad... but do what you have to do.

I like borders, but just the simple white medium length ones. I don't like the black ones with the letters on the bottom...I think those are really tacky and take away from the photo. other than that, I have no problem with borders...at least not with yours.

Borders is an amazing asset to photography, it moves a great deal of emphasizing the photo itself, in contrast, or so.

But, again - there are cons/pros for the usage of borders, so yeah. It always depends on the photo, context, environment (actual environment out there, in magazine, on walls, in galleries, etc.)

There are millions of strings attached to this intense subject of using borders or whatnot.
