Venezia, pt.1

So, we arrived in Venezia two days ago. The first day we roamed around looking for a hostel for a few hours, until we found °Archies Rooms°-- very cheap at only 16 Euro a night and there are only 2 other people in the room. A nice change (at the last place we stayed only had single sex dorms with 20 people in each, blah!) and Archie is great. He ( Read more... )

Hey guys,
Just thought I'd let you know that I have been following along. Figured you had better things to do than read all my ooohs and aaaahs. I'm jealous as hell, but so glad you are where you are doing the things you're doing. I hope your last few days will be just as cool, no doubt they will. Ashley, thanks for the post card. It really brightened my mailbox. Live it up, and give me a call when you get back! I want to hear all the details you didn't have time to type and see lots of pictures.

Sounds like you are seeing the REAL Venice. (And not touristy things like $100. gondola rides) The world's other great Last Supper, by Tintoretto, is in a church in Venice and well worth seeing. Also the School of San Roco has really wonderful paintings.
