Huhhh.

Okay, so, I am at Vividcon! And have been since Thursday night. It is fun as always, but tonight I had a curious experience.

You see, for the past couple years I've thought about submitting Cobrastyle to Club Vivid, since it's energetic and I'm not mortally ashamed of it, but I always thought that I should fix the timing on some parts ( Read more... )

I stumbled upon this post because I'm reading the f-list of the VVC comm, so randomly chiming in - as far as I'm aware, there's no "submission" process for non-premiering CVV vids per se. (Although now that I think about it, maybe the suggestion form does extend to CVV, although I'm not sure.) I think a lot of the time AbsoluteDestiny just browses around and incorporates what he thinks will be a good fit for the year's show. Sometimes they would have premiered at previous years' VVCs but a lot of the time they're not, and unlike the other vidshows, there's no VJ request process. So maybe it's the case that AD found your vid without someone you know necessarily having "submitted" it. :)

That's pretty much what I thought, it's just that I didn't even know I was on the radar. I haven't submitted a vid since 2009, and I'm not exactly a big name, plus most of what I do is anime anyway, so...I'm flattered, but confused. Which I suppose is not too bad a mental state to be in.

I found the guy who puts the playlist together, and he said someone had recommended it to him and he decided even if it was anime there were enough DRRR!! fans in the anime contingent here, so...I guess that solves that? It's still weird, though.

I am! I am not doing a lot at it besides going to vidshows, but hey, those are good. I don't think I'll go next year, though; my roommate won't be, so the cost is quite a bit and I don't get enough out of it to justify that.
