Vidding sounds like it should have been a good topic, I mean it's Digital Art and Culture class right? Sounds like the class isn't meeting anyone's expectations of it from the title. But Hatsune Miku is a good paper topic as well.

He did kind of have a point, actually--it's a research paper, and I can't really research something I already know so much about--but while I was trying to defend my choice he kept asking me what the artistic value was of the specific vid I used as an example ("Women's Work", a Supernatural vid that caused quite a stir when it first came out and was once used in a legit newspaper article). So I don't think he would have approved it even if I knew nothing about the topic. :\

I WILL FIGHT FOR THE RIGHT TO TRY TO MAKE AN ASPECT OF A TERRIBLE CLASS INTERESTING. That is what geeks do in lecture classes, y'all. It's practically part of our creed!

Originally the paper was just going to be about the Vocaloids, but he suggested I do something about female avatars in general, and then I thought, well, there is clearly a video I have to use in my presentation. *g*
