Also this is like the most American anime since Heroman.

So, basically, I have seen the first four episodes of Tiger and Bunny and, guys, hearts in my eyes, hearts in my eyes forever. It's like X-Statix but the protagonists are not terrible, terrible people! And only slightly less gay, but then, X-Statix had actual canon gay so--no one gets this reference do they oh god I am the only person in the world ( Read more... )

!!! SOMEONE ELSE IN THE WORLD. I was actually really into it when I was a teenager, probably because of the gay and the fact that I was really into Marvel but loved the idea of a series that did not have sixty years of previous canon I would need to know by heart. Also I liked the art a lot better than any other Marvel stuff. Alas, Madman is a bit too excessively alternative for me, but Mike Allred will always live in my heart.

:DDDD It is a pretty good anime for people who do not usually watch anime, I think, since it has so many superhero tropes and takes place in an Americanish city. Also it is just pretty good in general! So yes watch it, waaaatch iiiiiit

Anime can always be picked up again! It does not go away! That is one of its prime advantages: there is always more.

Kotetsu's face is one of the series' biggest draws, not gonna lie *g* I don't care that Barnaby's supposed to be the pretty one, I like my boys expressive.

Oo, I've been kinda sorta interested in Tiger and Bunny after hearing it mentioned. Do you like Heroman? Another friend of mine keeps trying to get me to watch it.

Heroman is awesome! Definitely one of the best kids' action shows out there, and it's a real shame it hasn't been licensed because oh come on STAN LEE IS A CHARACTER IN IT. American kids would love it, seriously. And so would American not-kids! It is just a very solid and enjoyable action show with occasional moral ambiguity and ridiculously fluid animation.

Hey, I read X-Statix! I think I've still got two of the trades somewhere. I mainly read it for Dead Girl, I have to say.

I mainly read it for whatsisface the werewolf, since I was still in my I-like-books-better-than-people phase and also the gay thing. Canon gay, oh man; it gave my fourteen-year-old self feeling's. Everyone else I was kind of meh on because, well, they were all immensely unlikeable to some degree or another. Fortunately, given the ending, I suspect Mike Allred agreed with me. *g*
