I was going to do a non-spoilery thought and not cut it because that is how I stupidly roll, but no, here are some spoilery thoughts on The Impossible Astronaut!
I quite like the idea that them being at home was just a sort of rest stop in the 'You know what we should do, get some Ikea bookcases' type of thing. My other thought, with the Amy pregnancy thing, was that they had decided to stop and make babies for a bit. What ever it is I just hope that they tell us soon. Cause we really don't need one more thing to be wondering about.
I thought that it could have been a black woman who Mark Sheppard was in love with, but actually by that point that wasn't illegal any more. Someone else suggested a Russian. So for the moment I'm going with a black man with communist leanings.
Given the inexplicable black Secret Service agents, I'm guessing race is not going to be portrayed as much of an issue. Gay all the way. Communism is intriguing, though...
I spotted that the spaceship was the same one from The Lodger too. When River went to put her hand on it I immediately went "no, you'll be sucked away!" D:

I saw that on your tumblr and yes. :D (which is to say that I am following you on tumblr, hello) Obviously the Doctor needs to pop in once the kid's born, be terrified, leave, and keep coming back anyway out of jealousy. Stupid babies shouldn't be more important to them than him. Amy and Rory share a constant eyeroll forever.
Okay, we will have to come to terms with the fact that I adore River. ;)
But man, I apparently missed a lot after reading all the speculation. Space ship the same as the lodger? Implications of anything? I was clearly tweeting too much and I need to rewatch. :)
I didn't like her in her first appearance because she was too...well, it was like she hadn't earned knowing so much about the Doctor. If we'd seen her chronologically, I suspect I would have liked her very much, but as it was we had someone coming in who was all but bragging about how close she was to him while saying ominous things about Donna. It seemed like Moffat was trying to say she was more important than Donna, which pissed me the hell off, because Donna was my favorite and I didn't want her to be replaced by someone so smug. And then in Time of Angels she had that comment about the TARDIS noise being the Doctor leaving the parking brake on and it was just, rargh, stop trying to show how ~special~ she is. I did like her more in The Pandorica Opens, though, because there was less of the smugness, and same with The Impossible Astronaut. Perhaps she's just growing on me. I'm still bitter about the parking brake comment, though.
I have to say I was very influenced by a group of Lois Lane-loving fans on Twitter who were so positive about her that I went into watching S5 expecting awesome. And I loved her on sight. I love confident, smug female characters, though, so there you go.
Her story seems so tragic to me, and I see the smugness almost as a coping mechanism in hindsight, especially after her speech to Rory. That BROKE MY HEART. D':
