The previews were mostly depressing, though. "Get Smurf'd"? Really?

So I just saw Tangled! And, you know, pretty awesome, very funny, gorgeous, wonderful characters, I want fic where she tops him forever, highly recommended. Is it a Thing for female characters to use frying pans as weapons? I'm going to go check TV Tropes. TV Tropes says it is. Well there you go then! Also, so much passing of the Bechdel Test ( Read more... )

Well, it's pretty much just between Rapunzel and the witch, so it's not quite happy Bechdel-Test-passing, but there is a fair bit of it and when you think about it two of the three (speaking) main characters are women, so that's pretty cool too. Also Rapunzel gets to do quite a bit of asskicking. All in all, an excellent score on the lady-characters front.

Haha, I think that once one's dominant impression of Levi is Chuck, it is kind of hard to see him as smouldering. Goofy-cute kind of charming, more like.

And yes, Rapunzel tops Eugene Flynn forever.

I have to remind myself that he actually is fairly buff, and they just tried to hide it because it didn't fit the character very well. Perhaps this will open new doors for him! Or perhaps they will keep him trapped in Chuck forever. Has it been canceled yet? I don't think it'll last that much longer, anyway.

She grabbed him by the collar for the kiss! That is one of my biggest first-kiss kinks, not gonna lie. Plus we know she's pretty good at typing him up, so--yeah. I am not sure there is a way to use a frying pan in a sexy manner but I bet they could find one.

Actual blood? In a DISNEY MOVIE? I feel the vapours coming on!

Seriously though I think I need this movie in my life, like, yesterday.

I know! A character gets stabbed, and at first I thought, nah, they're just going to use poses and camera angles to hide it, but then there was an actual wound! I very nearly needed a fainting couch.

It is a very good movie, oh yes! :D It doesn't have a ~revolutionary~ plot, and it is pretty cheesy, but the wonderful characters and sneaky subversions make it a hell of a lot of fun.

My goodness, I...wasn't expecting this movie to be all that enjoyable! I mean, I had my hopes up, but I was also sort of crossing my fingers and hoping it wouldn't fail? And I am so happy to hear that it is good, and especially glad that it is conducive to ficcish thoughts in which Rapunzel tops her prince. ;)

Apparently the marketing for the movie makes it look completely different, because the executives were afraid it wouldn't appeal to manly men of manliness? But no, it is very enjoyable, and it features the heroine tying her love interest to a chair, and how can you go wrong with that really. (Also he is not a prince, he is a dastardly rogue. Which is not a common male-lead-career in a Disney movie. But it totally should be.)
