Whenever I use the room's wireless connection, LJ automatically redirects to MySpace.

I am pretty sure that is not supposed to happen.

Using the ethernet cable makes everything fine, though. Tried deleting all my cookies and not allowing any more; nothing happened except making it impossible to log into Echo Bazaar, which is not an ideal side effect ( Read more... )

If i had W handy, he'd probly could explain it but it's just me here 'cause ironically, W's off helping his dad install a wireless router in his new condo.. but that said, i'd guess it's DNS thingy which i couldn't tell you what it stood for but it's an internety address thingy oslt and could explain the mysterious redirect. i Think.

It sounds damn suspicious to me, but I can't think what the motivation would be to redirect to MySpace... unless your ISP has some kind of deal with them.

What I would do:
1. When connected by cable, ping livejournal.com and make a note of the IP address it gives.
2. When connected by wireless, do the same.
3. Are the addresses same or different?

The answer to that question will determine what to look into next.
