They do eventually find something approximating formal attire-Jacuzzi isn’t big on suit jackets, but the vest and shirt underneath aren’t so bad, and the pants are, well, pants. Claire does have to convince him about the tie, though. A life of constant paranoia leads you to be wary of things that could be easily used to strangle you.

I LOVE ALL OF IT. I can't even begin to count the tiny details that made me happy - Chane expressing small preferences (she doesn't like seafood! They're all SO HAPPY to know that! I love that so much) and Jacuzzi's fiscal responsibility and Nice's determination to be comfortable in her own skin and Claire's exaggerated gestures and Claire and Jacuzzi as shopping buddies and the sheer concentrated adorable that was Jacuzzi and Nice's very first date and IDK MY BFF GRAHAM SPECTER and, basically, everything. :D :D :D

Especially since you are one of like three people I know who will read it. *g* I kind of really really like putting these four together, AS YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED, because there is just so much crazy and adorable to be found in any combination of them and IN MY HEART Nice and Jacuzzi are the godparents of Claire and Chane's eventual children, THE LIGHT NOVELS CANNOT DISSUADE ME OTHERWISE.

bookelfe, knowing I needed something to keep me (relatively) sane during the last week of my master's thesis, linked me to this. And, lo, it is excellent.

I don't have time to go through everything I loved, but I especially gleed over the fact that you seem to read Nice's sleevelessness the same way I do: it's a challenge to the world, it's a sign of how brave she is, and how confident. It's one of my favorite things about her.

Anyway, thanks for an excellent piece of writing that brought more than a few ridiculous smiles to my face.

Thank you! :D Nice's outfit is definitely one of the most hmm-worthy aspects of the series, since, well, it isn't exactly period-appropriate, is it? So there must be something Significant about it. Glad you liked the fic!
