TINY ADORABLE DIETER IS THE TINIEST AND MOST ADORABLE.

HIS DREAM IS TO HAVE A SOCCER BALL! HE REFUSES TO BELIEVE TENMA'S EXTREMELY LOGICAL INSISTENCE THAT KIDS JOINING PEOPLE WHO ARE HUNTING FOR A SERIAL KILLER IS NOT A VERY GOOD IDEA! Actually Tenma would probably make the best dad ever and admittedly the kid has no reason whatsoever to trust anyone besides him, but still, Dieter does not seem to make the best life choices.

WHAT ARE YOU SAYING, TENMA IS HIS BFF.

Though I dunno, man, Tenma is great with kids and very sweet and would probably be an awesome dad under normal circumstances, but he is kind of hilariously terrible at managing to find Dieter safe places to stay. "Here, SERIOUSLY INJURED TINY VICTIM OF ABUSE, take some bus fare and catch this bus back to the orphanage by yourself! You'll be fine! NOTHING CAN GO WRONG WITH THIS PLAN."

Tenma is hilariously terrible at a lot of things! Like not managing to be as suspicious as possible to the police, or having any regard for his personal safety. But yes, "sending an injured kid to take a bus alone to get to a place he's never been to" was not one of his brightest moves. Which, now that I think about it, is probably the real reason Dieter refused to leave him--because the only other option was incredibly stupid.

Actually, the extra-long holiday is mostly because of people who wouldn't celebrate Thanksgiving--namely, international students (of which we have a lot, apparently) for whom it would be pointless to only go back home for a couple weeks. Or maybe the school really does just value Thanksgiving that much. idk.
