Am waiting in line to get tickets for the Masquerade. Did not get into Pushing Daisies panel; probably should have showed up more than an hour ahead of time. Did not get into backup Chuck panel, either, despite it being in 5600-seat room. Tired. Sweaty. Have spent far too much time walking, and yet, paradoxically, no time at all today in the room ( Read more... )

I really do appreciate the field reports, futuresoon. It is my dream to get to Comic Con one of these years and one of the things I'd never really factored in to the plan is the sheer volume of people and what sounds like the world's longest queues. Hmmn. Maybe because the San Diego convention centre is so massive I just assumed there was no way of they'd fill THAT all the way up. Hell, it seems to take about 2 minutes to drive all the way past it. Anyway, how wrong (it sounds) I was.

I think there are no buildings anywhere that are big enough to fully accommodate the sprawling monster that is Comic-Con. Still, I wouldn't give it up for the world.

*points and laughs again* That's what paying exorbitant flight and hotel costs and waiting in line for two hours can get you! I'd say more people should try it, but really, we don't need any.

*points and laughs* Seriously, this thing is an event--it must be witnessed at least once in one's lifetime. Presumably, the rest of the lifetime will be spent paying for it.
