Today was my first day of volunteering at the Science Fiction Museum! (My family connections are cooler than yours.) We know many of the higher-ranking people there, including the lovely director, so all it took was an email and some paperwork (I guess volunteers need background checks? But it's not like I have a secret history of credit card fraud ( Read more... )

nice! that blows the jobs my gang have right out of the water. Two sample positions: Construction Worker and Summer (Acting) Camp Teacher. Yes, kids! You too can bust your ass through private highschool, get great grades, and have such wonderful jobs! Doesn't it make you feel great about education?!

Seriously, though, you're job sounds like the best thing ever.

(also, I think you may have converted me into a Middleman viewer. You hook me onto all the good crack. )

There are times when LJ hates all of us. And at least your friends' jobs pay--all I get is a good mark on my resume. And, I guess, a chance to borrow movies. It's not the most interesting job in the world, either. Although I may get to do some stuff with an upcoming exhibit later.

(Yeeeees. All will know the good crack that is The Middleman. Aaaaallll.)

Ooh, that is awesome! When I'm 18, my dad says he's going to snag me an internship at the Metropolitan (doing what, I have no idea, but hey, it sounds reasonably exciting), seeing as he has connections to a lot of people in the art industry (so if I ever develop artistic abilities in my sleep or whatever, I am in luck).

And I just don't know about The Middleman. On one hand, I have been told how awesome it is about a hundred times over, but on the other, it just doesn't seem like the kind of show I'd like (of course I also said this about Supernatural, Doctor Who, Torchwood, and Heroes, but those are dramas, and I've always been kind of picky about comedies).

Ooooooh, an internship at a big art museum would be great--not just for the experience, but it'd be one hell of a thing to put on your resume. (These are the things I think about.) Plus, pretty pictures.

It is impossible not to like The Middleman! Well...maybe if you do not like silly funny things. But seriously, you like Pushing Daisies, you will probably like The Middleman. They are remarkably similar! Cute leads, absurd sense of humor, lots of fast talking, just generally sweet and fun...and it's certainly got elements of Doctor Who in it as well. Hell, it'll probably pull out some ghost shenanigans eventually, and I wouldn't be surprised if there were people with mysterious powers, or funky alien artifacts, or...well, okay, probably not so much on the guys kissing, but they at least acknowledge that gay people exist, so that's points in its favor, eh? So, basically, if you watch it and you are not hooked after thirty seconds, I will hate you forever. (Disclaimer: probably not forever.)
