Since everyone and their mother is talking about how Steven Moffat is taking over as executive producer for Doctor Who in the fifth season, I might as well share my limited, meandering, inconclusive thoughts on the issue: hey, I really, really liked The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances and Blink (my thoughts on The Girl in the Fireplace have changed

Yes indeed, and since The Deadly Assassin is the first time they see each other since they were Three and Delgado, it was quite bemusing to viewers back in the day. I recommend Sea Devils to recover.
First off, Rowan Atkinson was rocking the look. In an alternate universe, perhaps he was not merely the Comic Relief parody performer, is all I am saying.
Absolutely. He was playing it straight, which is the secret of success to good farce, and made one conclude he could have pulled it off.
The other guy was Richard E. Grant as Ten. (He's also voicing the Doctor in Scream of the Shalka, and you might have seen him in The Scarlet Pimpernel in the lead.)
And yeah, the ending. *insert evil laughter* With that, and the "beard" joke Moffat used in Time Crash, I think it's undeniable he is shipping them.

I'd forgotten that Moffat wrote Time Crash! Oh, man. *cackles along with you* You know, I think we may be the luckiest slash fandom there is. *g*

May I ask who 'That One Character' who's being considered as a companion is? I generally skirt around spoilers, but I'm curious.

Heh, mayhap i overplayed the level of Amusing in The Pirate Planet, but it still remains one of my favoritest Tom Baker episodes. One of my personal favorite bits was the Jelly Baby lure scene... it was too over the board Silly, is what that was! ;D (but still i maintin the opinion that the Doctor was clearly oozing Douglas Adams out of his pores in this'un.)
The Deadly Assassin was my First Master episode. i was completely disappointed with how the Inside the Matrix was handled.. i woulda made it more psychedelic but maybe that's just where my headspace was at the time, man. i loved Barusa so much, though. Adorable little toad, he was. Heh.
And of course, Mel had me watch Curse of the Fatal Death which i loved muchly but am too tired to recall much of. Clearly, i shall have to watch it again ;D

Oh, you poor, poor thing. I hope you fixed that post-haste? A good dose of Delgado can cure many ills, you know.

Interestingly enough, he's portrayed as quite a nice fellow (if a little wry) and very much on the Doctor's side in The Time Invasion, which is a far, far superior episode for the Time Lords. (That is, admittedly, not saying much.)

Oh, you must see it again, if only for the ending--if those are the hands who are to be in charge of the show, I shall certainly not be complaining. :D

I knoooow! That episode was a really bad way to get to know the Master, it was.. but if memory serves, i went right onto Delgado from there and i do remember being quite impressed with his portrayal in contrast! (that and how much Ainley resembled him when i first saw him in Logopolis (yar, din't see Keeper of Traken for some time afterwards & was quite puzzled at the time with where Nyssa came from and her reactions to the Master))!
Yarrr, i have to figure out if i still have a copy of CotFD or if i have to Acquire it again. This is clearly something that belongs in every Whovian's collection!
